Sinfonia Strolls-Live Music: SATURDAYS, April 5, 12, 19

Town Center 6pm - 8pm
Musicians will perform acoustic setsthroughout the cobblestone streets of Rosemary Beach. Listen for enchantingviolinists, chamber ensembles, jazz pianists, steel-drums, acoustic guitars, abrass quintet and even a marching Mardi Gras brass Band to fill the air thisseason.

7 PM--Summer Kitchen/Bamboo Bike Courtyard Sinfonia's woodwind quintet brings Prokofiev's classic musical tale to life in this enchanting production,complete with vivid musical characterizations that highlight both the narrative and beloved score.
Book Signing-Marci Fair "TILT" at The Hidden Lantern: April 9, 2014 11 AM
Successful entrepreneur + author Marci Fair's new book helps working mothers overcome guilt + let go of the search for balance. Juggling work + family has never seemed more possible than in Fair's parenting guide + new release, Tilt: 7 Solutions to be a Guilt-Free Working Mom. Through the book, women realize that they don't have to feel guilty for not being a perfect supermom + learn how to make the choices that matter in their lives.

New whimsical children's picture book by local artist + author Robin Wiesneth hits shelves in April.We've all had grand adventures in our dreams. What if our dogs + cats had daring dreams as well? Dive into this picture book that explores the exciting dreams of a group of shelter pets as they wait patiently to find their forever homes. This book keeps children engaged with vivid, details images + cheerful, rhyming prose. Wiesneth devotes time to painting animals + lending her artistic talents + efforts to fundraising initiates for animal shelters + rescue groups in the vicinity. Turning her whimsical art into children's picture books about shelter animals is another platform in promoting + encouraging foster + adoption.

Carol Ann Cain--Artist Workshop Series"Landscape Painting": Wednesday, April 16 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM The Hidden Lantern Gallery
This spring, The Hidden Lantern Gallery initiates a new workshop series, hosting local guest artists to lead a class in the style + approach to art-making that they are so revered for. Cost of each class is $40 which includes all art-making materials. Maximum 12 attendees per workshop. All levels welcome - Our artists are extraordinary in guiding new artists + offering new challenges to the advanced. 

CAROL ANN CAIN | BEST IN SHOW AWARD | SCENES OF SOUTH WALTON 2013 The gorgeous, symphonic treatment of feeling + form in Carol Ann Cain's natural landscapes has won her accolades near + far. In her workshop, Carol Ann will teach how to compose a landscape without getting bogged down with the details. Among her methods: How to simplify shapes, layering dark values followed by light, and adding limited detail to give the viewer what they need to read a painting as a landscape.

John Griswold's new book, Pirates You Don't Know And Other Adventures In The Examined Life is a funny, poignant, bittersweet + sometimes snarky account of everything ranging from creative writing to babies, from race issues in a university town to crocodiles. The author's tongue-in-cheek tone allows him to discuss this breadth of subject matter in an inviting + entertaining way, while still addressing prevalent + important issues. With humor, pathos + poignancy, he touches on his upbringing in a coal town in southern Illinois, how class in America affected four generations of his family, his experience as an army deep-sea diver + frogman, the joys + challenges of fatherhood, what it means to be literate + open to the world. 

Griswold is an assistant professor in the MFA program at McNeese State University + is the editor of the McNeese Review. He is the author of the novel A Democracy of Ghosts + of the nonfiction narrative Herrin: The Brief History of an Infamous American City. For nearly ten years, Griswold has been publishing essays in Inside Higher Ed, McSweeney's Internet Tendency, Brevit, Ninth Letter + Adjunct Advocate, many under the pen name Oronte Churm.
